Job Summary:
The contractor shall provide on-site maritime vessel support to research, development and test activities that occur at DWST/ATI7 at CCAFS. This position serves as Maritime Specialist and Technician responsible for day-to-day support of multiple maritime vessels under control by ATI7 that perform continuous research and development test activities. The contractor shall work with ATI personnel in:
•Performing navigation and operation of vessels, including 200+ ton, as required to support ATI7 activities
•Planning and coordinating upgrades for ATI7 vessels to meet incoming R&D requirements
•Track program activities and reporting status to synchronize and enhance the overall effectiveness of the ATl7 maritime assets.
•Possess specialized knowledge to interpret and apply concepts and theories and make time sensitive decisions regarding personnel and equipment safety
•Have a background in vessel management involving industrial maritime type activities such as load planning, rigging support, launch/recovery, salvage, search, mooring, multiple vessel activities, etc.
•Be able to provide technical advice to government project managers and engineers with regard to boat operations and mission feasibility as well as plan and coordinate maritime tests and maintenance
•Prepare for activities such as readiness reviews; utilization and safety training; and interagency coordination
•Provide history of operating, maintaining and repairing marine equipment such as winches, hydraulics, A-frames, davits, pneumatics, and shipboard systems at sea
•Be capable of providing deck hand and swimmer services for deploying and retrieving equipment in the water.
•Be able to pass a background investigation and receive a government security clearance.
Essential Job Functions:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
•200 Ton Masters license or higher; with industrial experience
•Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) FCC
•Radio operator license Vessel Security Officer (VSO)
•Master of towing endorsement Basic & Advanced Firefighting
•Qualified to operate a fork lift and a 5000 pound capacity truck mounted crane
•Radar/ARPA Certification
•ECDIS certification
•CPR & First Aid Certified
•Advanced/Rescue Diver Certified
•Rigger/ crane operator training
•Survival Craft, and Water Survival trained
Education/Training:
•AA/AS
•BS is desired
•OR 2-5 year's experience
•U.S.C.G. - Master of Towing
