A 1st Cook is needed for a speciality restaurant on-board an international cruise company. The main responsibilities for this position include being responsible of the assigned area in order to ensure menus, timing of delivery and high-quality products are in accordance with company standards.
Other duties include supporting the Sous Chef to verify menus and to report any issues in the restaurant’s kitchen, supervising the correct handling of equipment and to plan effectively to ensure that waste and over production is kept to a minimum.
A successful candidate will have at least 2 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie, or as a Chef de Tournant with experience in every galley area. A Hotel School Diploma is preferred, but not essential.
Previous cruise ship experience is required for this position, as well as valid STCW basic safety training certificates, valid Discharge Book and Passport.
